(wgvu) - - AUTO PARTS SUPPLIER VISTEON PLANS TO
INVEST $35 MILLION DOLLARS TO OPEN A MANUFACTURING PLANT IN
HIGHLAND PARK.
THE MICHIGAN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION SAYS THE COMPANY
PLANS TO HIRE 175 WORKERS AT THE PLANT ONCE IT OPENS.
THEY WILL BE MAKING INTERIOR COMPONENTS FOR A VARIETY OF
AUTOMOTIVE PLANTS IN MICHIGAN AND THE REST OF MIDWEST.
VISTEON WILL GET A TAX CREDIT FROM THE STATE AND TAX ABATEMENTS
FROM THE CITY OF HIGHLAND PARK AS INCENTIVES FOR ITS INVESTMENT.
VISTEON IS BASED IN WAYNE COUNTY'S VAN BUREN TOWNSHIP.
IT MAKES PARTS PRIMARILY FOR FORD, NISSAN, RENAULT, HYUNDAI AND
KIA.
