IRAQ-ROGERS
(2007-02-08)
(wgvu) - CONGRESSMAN MIKE ROGERS SAYS HE HAS A
PLAN FOR DEALING WITH THE SITUATION IN IRAQ WITHOUT DEPLOYING
ANYMORE TROOPS THERE.
PRESIDENT BUSH'S NEW WAR STRATEGY FOR AN ADDITIONAL 21 AND
A-HALF THOUSAND TROOPS IS THE FOCUS OF CONTINUING POLITICAL RANCOR
ON CAPITOL HILL.
BUT THE BRIGHTON REPUBLICAN TELLS W-H-M-I RADIO IN HOWELL THAT
HE THINKS REDEPLOYMENT OF TROOPS ALREADY IN IRAQ WOULD BETTER SERVE
OUR INTERESTS.
ROGERS SITS ON THE HOUSE INTELLIGENCE COMMITTEE. HE HAS MADE
NUMEROUS TRIPS TO THE MIDEAST REGION.
HE SAYS THE U-S SHOULD SEND FOUR-THOUSAND TROOPS FROM OTHER
PARTS OF IRAQ TO THE TROUBLED ANBAR PROVINCE TO FIGHT AL-QAIDA
FORCES.
