(wgvu) - GOVERNOR GRANHOLM STILL IS CONSIDERING A REQUEST BY JACK KEVORKIAN'S LAWYER THAT THE 78-YEAR-OLD ASSISTED SUICIDE ADVOCATE BE RELEASED FROM PRISON EARLY.
KEVORKIAN IS SCHEDULED FOR PAROLE IN JUNE ON HIS SECOND-DEGREE MURDER CONVICTION IN THE POISONING DEATH OF A MAN WITH LOU GEHRIG'S DISEASE.
GRANHOLM GOT THE EARLY RELEASE REQUEST DECEMBER 15TH.
DEFENSE LAWYER MAYER MORGANROTH SAYS KEVORKIAN HAS DIABETES, HEPATITIS C, VERTIGO, HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE AND HARDENING OF THE ARTERIES AND SHOULD BE FREED BEFORE JUNE.
GRANHOLM SPOKESWOMAN LIZ BOYD SAYS THE GOVERNOR STILL IS REVIEWING THE CASE.
