HELICOPTER CRASH

(wgvu) - MILITARY OFFICIALS SAY A SUBURBAN DETROIT MAN
WAS AMONG FOUR SAILORS KILLED IN FRIDAY'S CRASH OF A NAVY
HELICOPTER OFF THE SAN DIEGO COAST.
THE M-H-60-S HELICOPTER WAS ON A TRAINING MISSION WHEN IT
CRASHED INTO THE PACIFIC OCEAN.
THE NAVY IDENTIFIED THE VICTIMS AS PETTY OFFICER SECOND CLASS
CHRISTOPHER WILL, A 29-YEAR-OLD FROM WARREN (MICHIGAN).
THE OTHER VICTIMS WERE FROM LOUISIANA, WISCONSIN AND SUBURBAN
LOS ANGELES.
WILL WAS PULLED FROM THE WATER SHORTLY AFTER THE CRASH, BUT HE
DIED WHILE BEING TREATED ON THE U-S-S BONHOMME RICHARD. A RECOVERY
MISSION FOR THE OTHER BODIES WAS CONTINUING TODAY NEAR SAN CLEMENTE
ISLAND, ABOUT 50 MILES OFF THE COAST.
