(wgvu) - SEASONALLY UNADJUSTED UNEMPLOYMENT RATES
IN MOST OF MICHIGAN'S LABOR MARKETS ROSE IN DECEMBER.
JOBLESS RATES INCREASED IN 16 OF MICHIGAN'S 17 LABOR MARKET
REGIONS COMPARED WITH NOVEMBER LEVELS. THE LARGEST INCREASES IN
UNEMPLOYMENT CAME IN NORTHERN MICHIGAN.
THE ONLY AREA THAT DID NOT HAVE A HIGHER UNADJUSTED UNEMPLOYMENT
RATE IN DECEMBER WAS THE MUSKEGON-NORTON SHORES REGION OF WEST
MICHIGAN, WHICH REMAINED AT 6.6%.
REGIONAL JOBLESS RATES FOR DECEMBER RANGED FROM A LOW OF 4.4% IN ANN ARBOR TO A HIGH OF 10 PERCENT IN THE
NORTHEASTERN PART OF THE LOWER PENINSULA.
