(wgvu) - FORD ANNOUNCED THIS MORNING THAT IT LOST
$12.7 BILLION DOLLARS IN 2006, THE WORST FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE IN COMPANY HISTORY.
THE OLD RECORD NET LOSS WAS $7.39 BILLION DOLLARS IN 1992.
FORD LOST ABOUT $7 BILLION DOLLARS IN THE FIRST THREE QUARTERS OF 2006 AND ABOUT
$5.8 BILLION DOLLARS IN THE FINAL QUARTER.
THE COMPANY SAYS THE FOURTH-QUARTER LOSSES STEMMED FROM SLUMPING SALES AND HUGE RESTRUCTURING COSTS.
FORD MADE $1.4 BILLION DOLLARS IN 2005.
