(wgvu) - GOVERNOR GRANHOLM SAYS THE UPPER
PENINSULA NEEDS TO RECRUIT THE TYPE OF BUSINESSES THAT BALANCE THE
NEED FOR JOBS WITH THE NEED FOR KEEPING THE REGION'S ENVIRONMENT
HEALTHY.
GRANHOLM WAS IN MARQUETTE FOR AN INAUGURAL CELEBRATION
YESTERDAY. SHE ALSO PLEDGED CONTINUED SUPPORT FOR THE UPPER
PENINSULA.
GRANHOLM WAS JOINED BY HER HUSBAND, DAN MULHERN, AND LIEUTENANT
GOVERNOR JOHN CHERRY. THEY GREETED HUNDREDS OF AREA RESIDENTS AT
NORTHERN MICHIGAN UNIVERSITY.
THE DEMOCRATIC GOVERNOR DEFEATED HER REPUBLICAN CHALLENGER,
BUSINESSMAN DICK DEVOS, IN NOVEMBER.
