FORTY PEOPLE RANGING IN AGE FROM 17 TO 78
YEARS OLD FACE NUMEROUS CHARGES AFTER A MAJOR DRUG SWEEP THROUGH
THREE MID-MICHIGAN COUNTIES.
THE MICHIGAN STATE POLICE DRUG TASK FORCE COORDINATED THE SERIES
OF RAIDS WITH POLICE IN CLARE, GLADWIN AND MIDLAND COUNTIES.
THE INVESTIGATION STARTED IN JULY WITH UNDERCOVER DRUG BUYS,
TARGETING INDIVIDUALS IN GLADWIN COUNTY WHO WERE SELLING
PRESCRIPTION DRUGS, MARIJUANA AND COCAINE.
AUTHORITIES SAY 35 OF THE SUSPECTS ARE FROM GLADWIN COUNTY. MORE
ARRESTS ARE EXPECTED.
POLICE HAVE SEIZED SEVERAL WEAPONS INCLUDING HANDGUNS AND
RIFLES.
THEY'VE ALSO RECOVERED PRESCRIPTION DRUGS RANGING FROM MORPHINE
PATCHES, VICODIN AND OXYCONTIN TO STREET NARCOTICS LIKE CRACK
COCAINE.
