DELTA-NORTHWEST MERGER?

(wgvu) - - THE WALL STREET JOURNAL REPORTS THAT
NORTHWEST AIRLINES AND DELTA AIR LINES HAVE DISCUSSED MERGING, AND
SOME AIRLINE EXPERTS SAY SUCH A MARRIAGE MAKES SENSE.
NEITHER AIRLINE WOULD COMMENT. ANY DEAL BETWEEN THE TWO BANKRUPT
AIRLINES WOULD HAVE TO BE APPROVED BY CREDITORS.
SOME EXPERTS NOTE THAT DELTA'S ROUTES HAVE LESS OVERLAP WITH
NORTHWEST THAN WITH U-S AIRWAYS, WHICH HAS PROPOSED BUYING DELTA.
