THE CHANGES EXPAND RESTRICTIONS ON PRIVATELY FUNDED TRIPS, BAN
TRAVEL ON CORPORATE JETS AND ENCOURAGE DISCLOSURE OF LAWMAKERS' PET
PROJECTS.
SEVERAL DEMOCRATS ARE TAKING NEW LEADERSHIP ROLES UNDER THE NEW
CONGRESS.
IN THE HOUSE, CONGRESSMAN JOHN CONYERS OF DETROIT WILL LEAD THE
JUDICIARY COMMITTEE. CONGRESSMAN JOHN DINGELL OF DEARBORN HEADS THE
ENERGY AND COMMERCE COMMITTEE.
IN THE SENATE, CARL LEVIN WILL TAKE OVER THE ARMED SERVICES
COMMITTEE. HE SAYS HE'LL HOLD HEARINGS TO REVIEW THE BUSH
ADMINISTRATION'S IRAQ POLICY AND SEEK CHANGES.
