CARRIER TO BE NAMED AFTER FORD GRAND RAPIDS (wgvu) - The Navy says it will name its next
aircraft carrier the U-S-S Gerald R- Ford in honor of the president
who was laid to rest today in Grand Rapids.
The Navy hadn't planned to make the announcement yet, but
ex-Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld revealed it during his eulogy
at the funeral.
Ford served in the Navy during World War Two.
