ARREST MADE IN RESTAURANT STABBING
(2007-01-03)
(wgvu) - Police have arrested a suspect in the stabbing
deaths of a man and woman at a downtown Detroit sports bar owned by
Red Wings defenseman Chris Chelios.
Police say the two victims worked at Cheli's Chili Bar. They
were found this morning.
A former employee has been arrested in the slayings.
Police were questioning other employees who were inside the
restaurant at the time. The three-story building is next to
Comerica Park.
A restaurant spokeswoman says it will remain closed tonight.
The restaurant was expecting a busy night because of a ceremony
at Joe Louis Arena honoring former Red Wings captain Steve Yzerman.
