Dying Remarks MICHIGAN (wgvu) - Portions of a speech given by an
18-year-old Bloomfield Hills resident dying of cancer will air
Monday as part of an award ceremony in New York City.
Miles Levin knew he would die before accepting the Leadership in
Courage Award from the Sarcoma Foundation of America. He faced
death in a blog that attracted tens of thousands of readers.
The Detroit Free Press reports Levin recorded his nearly
10-minute acceptance speech shortly before he lost his battle on
August 19.
ABC news anchor Bob Woodruff, a fellow Cranbrook graduate who
befriended Levin last year, is to accept the award on Levin's
behalf.
Levin died of rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare form of soft-tissue
muscle cancer. He was diagnosed in 2006.
