Two Perspectives in the Florida Clean Water Debate A federal judge in Tallahassee has approved a consent decree requiring the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to establish numeric standards, or legal limits, for the amount of nutrients like phosphorous and nitrogen that will be allowed in Florida's water bodies. Florida to Participate in National Child ID Program All kindergarten students in the state, both in public and private schools, will soon be receiving child ID kits. The program is a collaboration by the American Football Coaches Association and the FBI, and provides a way for parents to have most of their child's information on hand in case they need to provide it to law enforcement. Their dockets are overflowing with the foreclosures, money-related crimes and family violence driven by the economic downturn. Now court filing fees have gone up - and as Margie Menzel reports, the wheels of justice are grinding to a halt for many Floridians. This is the first of a five-part series.
