Voter Turnout
(2008-08-26)
(wfsu) - Voter turnout is light and no major problems at the polls have been reported. Tuesday's primary races for Congress and state and local offices will set the ballot for the November Election. However, James Call reports, some local activists are already in fall campaign mode.

Just before the start of the Monday afternoon commuter rush hour, Tallahassee resident Gerry Losey was tending to a patch of political signs at an intersection of three roads leading to the Tallahassee Airport. A retired Air Force officer, Losey says an important message can't be overexposed. Gonzales is one of two challengers to County Commission at-large incumbent Ed Depuy. Akin Akiyemi also is vying for the seat. Depuy has run an extensive media campaign. Akiyemi is advertising with banners on Web sites. And Gonzales has Losey, with a trunk full of signs out looking for spaces to plant them. Voters have until 7 pm to select a winner.
