Florida Affordable Healthcare
(2008-07-07)
(wfsu) - The Florida Community Health Action Information Network, called Florida CHAIN is working with Health Care for America Now to launch a nationwide campaign for an affordable health care system. As Lynn Hatter reports, their goal in Florida is to increase awareness and change the way people look at health care.

The campaign kicks off Tuesday in Florida- with press conferences in different cities across the state. Laura Goodhue is the Executive Director of Florida CHAIN. She says the biggest hurdle in the way of creating an affordable healthcare plan, is whose going to pay for it.
Sound- And everyone has to take a shared responsibility in terms of paying for a type of healthcare system, and that would be employers, individuals and the government..
Goodhue says healthcare needs to be crafted to meet the needs of the consumer, and not private healthcare companies. The campaign will run nationwide ads between now and election day.
