oin the Center for Nonprofit Excellence for the 2014 Get on Board series where you will begin your quest to serve greater Louisville through volunteer leadership as a board member!
This four-session seminar series kicks off on Wednesday, April 16 at 8:30 a.m. and continues through May 14, 2014 (see schedule below for all session dates and times).
As a part of the Get on Board series, you will learn about the scope and nature of public purpose organizations, what to expect and bring to the table through your serving on a board of directors, and the importance of linking your passion to your volunteer leadership experience.
We will also host roundtable discussions where you will have the opportunity to meet and converse with executive directors and board members from nonprofits who are seeking new board participants. And, at our final session, we’ll review the obligations implicit in responsible board governance and celebrate your successful completion of this learning experience.
Representatives from DMLO CPAs and Scott Dolson from Frost Brown Todd, LLC will also discuss the fiduciary and legal responsibilities of serving on a nonprofit board.
