SNAP Calls on Springfield Diocese to Strengthen Protections SPRINGFIELD, MA (wfcr) - Sex abuse survivors and their supporters are calling on the Springfield Catholic Diocese to immediately strengthen protections for children under its care. This follows reports that a former priest accused of having sex with an underage girl in the 1970's had, until recently, been leading a church sanctioned support group for parents of gay children.
