Summer Fiction - Carin Clevidence
(2010-05-28)
(wfcr) - The House on Salt Hay Road -- a first novel by Northampton, Massachusetts author Carin Clevidence -- tells the story of the Pooles, who live on the Long Island shore. They're natives -- not vacationers -- and though characters occasionally move away from the ocean, they always feel the pull of the tides. The book takes place in the 1930's -- starting with a fireworks plant explosion, and ending with the hurricane of 1938. Clevidence spoke with WFCR's Susan Kaplan, who asked her to talk about some of the book's recurring themes -- including that of birds. © Copyright 2021, wfcr
