Forum on PV Economic Development Today at UMass
(wfcr) - The University of Massachusetts Amherst is joining forces with the towns of Hadley and Amherst to offer a forum on economic development in the region. Tuesday, a panel of experts will discuss ways the towns can collaborate with UMass to encourage responsible development. Chris Curtis, chief planner at the Pioneer Valley Planning Commission, will be among those serving on the panel. He says issues like a town's zoning can either enable or slow economic development.

As the University has discussed strengthening its relationship with the city of Springfield in recent weeks, Curtis says, this forum will help Hadley and Amherst focus on their connection to UMass. Other panelists will discuss business attraction and retention, traffic patterns and town infrastructure. The forum will be held at UMass' Isenberg School of Management Tuesday afternoon.
