Alan Weisman on "The World Without Us"
(2007-09-05)
(wfcr) - What would happen to the earth if humans just disappeared? Journalist Alan Weisman, who lives in Cummington, Massachusetts, set out to answer that question. Weisman himself traveled around the world to see what can thrive once we're mostly, if not completely, out of the way. Among the places he visited were primeval forests, the Korean demilitarized zone, and the region around the radioactively contaminated Chernobyl nuclear reactor. He writes in his new book, "The World Without Us, " that "the only real prediction you can make is that life will go on, and that it will be interesting. © Copyright 2017, wfcr
