Nestle Looks at Aquifer in Montague for Bottled Water
(wfcr) - In the Montague plains section of Montague, Massachusetts, there is a major aquifer -- an underground water supply created many thousands of years ago, when glaciers carved out what is now the Pioneer Valley. The state owns 15-hundred acres in the Montague plains. This week, the state gave Nestle corporation the go-ahead to research the area. Nestle is interested in the water there. The company sells bottled water under the brand names Poland Springs and Deer Park. Joseph Larson, a member of the state Division of Fisheries and Wildlife board, told Bob Paquette about Nestle's inquiry.
