Lebanese Representative in Connecticut
(wfcr) - Heavy fighting near Palestinian refugee camps in northern Lebanon has claimed dozens of lives in the last few days. The Lebanese Army has been trading small arms and artillery fire with a group of militants claiming ties to Al Kaeda. There have also been bombings in two neighborhoods in Beirut. The fragile Lebanese government barely survived last summer's devastating war between Israel and the Shi'ite group Hezbollah, backed by Iranian and Syria. In Hartford Monday, a member of the Lebanese Parliament met with Connecticut lawmakers about preserving stability in the Middle Eastern Democracy. Lawmaker Jawad Boulos told WFCR's Av Harris the current violence in Lebanon is being perpetrated by anti-Democratic forces. © Copyright 2018, wfcr
