Vintage Baseball comes to Westfield, MA
(2007-05-01)
(wfcr) - In the 1960s, Jim Bouton was a pitcher for the New York Yankees. His 1969 tell-all book, "Ball Four", was an infamous account of the on and off field antics of Major League players. Jim Bouton now lives in the Berkshires, and he's fallen in love with a much earlier version of the sport. He's commissioner of the Vintage Baseball Federation. The federation is planning a tournament this summer in Westfield, Massachusetts. Bouton told WFCR's Bob Paquette, having played ball in the 20th century; it's only natural that he'd be drawn to the way it was in the played in the 19th century
