Pakistan has been rocked this past week by a Taliban insurgency that has U.S. policy-makers debating the best level of engagement with the nuclear-armed country. Asma Jahangir chairs the human rights commission of Pakistan and she is a visiting scholar at Mount Holyoke College this week. Jahangir says she is cautiously optimistic that the Obama administration will improve the relationship between the U.S. and Pakistan.
