What's Inside the New Norton Anthology of Latino Literature
AMHERST, MA(wfcr) -
The new Norton Anthology of Latino Literature took 13 years to compile, though editor Ilan Stavans says it actually took him his entire life. Stavans is a professor of Latin American and Latino culture at Amherst College. The 2500-page anthology spans 500 years of writing and it's Norton's first ever Latino collection. Stavans told WFCR's Jill Kaufman, the book represents experiences of Latinos living in the U.S. and the geographic boundaries helped, somewhat, to define who made it in to the book, and who didn't.
