MA Theaters and the Economic Downturn LENOX, MA (wfcr) - In summer, the Berkshire hills of Massachusetts come alive with the sounds of musicals, dramas and comedies on the stages of half a dozen professional theater companies. Right now, most are dark and silent. The exception is Shakespeare & Company in Lenox. Its current staging of "Les Liaisons Dangereuses" is keeping the lights on and the box office busy.
