Online networks are creating chances for social interaction. And scientists are looking at casual connections in the social fabric. They're not your close friends or family, but "consequential strangers;" also the title of a new book by journalist Melinda Blau and psychologist Karen Fingerman. Blau lives part time in Northampton. She says technology is opening up new options in developing relationships, even if they're not what we consider true friendship. Blau spoke to WFCR's Susan Kaplan.
