SPRINGFIELD, MA
(wfcr) -
In May of 2008, Mario Hornsby Jr. -- a Central High School basketball star -- was shot to death in what police believe was a gang hit intended for someone else. Earlier this month, the District Attorney dropped charges against one of the two teenagers accused of the killing. The trial for the second has been postponed. Hornsby's father, Mario Sr., says he's just about given up on the justice system. But he has not given up on the youth of Springfield. He's launching a poignant memorial to his son, and to other young victims of city violence. WFCR's Karen Brown reports.
