Schools Scramble to Keep Teaching with Leaner Budgets
(2008-05-28)
(wfcr) - Every school district is different, but many in New England are struggling with the same problem: not enough money. In some places, the annual budget battle has taken a dramatic turn, with schools closing, and teachers being laid off. WFCR will spend the next several weeks looking at districts in the region, and at the issues they're facing. Today Tina Antolini takes us to Holyoke, Massachusetts, where 3 schools will close at the end of the school year, and the district is still facing a budget gap of more than $1-million dollars. © Copyright 2017, wfcr
