(wnpr) - The brutal murders of three members of a Cheshire family have prompted shock throughout our state. Suburban residents have responded by flooding the phone lines of security companies. Many have questioned the timeline of the tragedy, which started with an overnight home invasion, and led to a deadly fire.

But much of the focus has been on the parole and corrections system in the state, which allowed two career criminals--Steven Hayes and Joshua Komisarjevsky--to be released time and time again, despite long criminal records, drug addiction and parole violations.

We'll examine the state's system, as lawmakers get ready to open an investigation, and we'll be joined by a Doctor who can talk about what makes a violent criminal.
