Bay Bridge span to be partially closed this weekend ANNAPOLIS, MD (wesm) - The Maryland Transportation Authority is warning that the eastbound span of the Bay Bridge will be closed to traffic temporarily during the overnight hours this weekend, for maintenance work.

The closure times will accommodate rush-hour commuter traffic, as well as the additional traffic expected this weekend due to NASCAR races in Dover, Del., and SunFest in Ocean City, Md.

Traffic and weather permitting, the eastbound span is expected to be closed during the following times:

- From 11 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday.
- From 10 p.m. Saturday to 7 a.m. Sunday.
- From 10 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Two-way traffic will operate on the westbound span during the closures.

Crews are installing rumble strips between the eastbound travel lanes to alert drivers who cross the double solid lines separating the lanes.
