Tourism businesses discuss disaster planning SMYRNA, DEL. (AP) (wesm) - Delaware's tourism-related businesses heard Wednesday from emergency preparedness experts at a seminar in Smyrna about tourism disaster planning.

The all-day gathering featured experts from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the Naval Postgraduate School.

Representatives from Delaware businesses discussed policies and procedures for closing businesses and roads and possible evacuation plans in the event of a disaster.

Gov. Ruth Ann Minner said the seminar would help the state develop an emergency response strategy in conjunction with the tourism industry.
