Blogger sentenced in perjury case
Forty-six-year-old Joe Albero of Delmar, Del., was sentenced to probation before judgment Tuesday after entering an Alford plea in Wicomico County Circuit Court. With an Alford plea, a person does not admit guilt, but acknowledges that the state has enough evidence to convict.
Albero was indicted in April for perjury in a 2005 land deal in Pittsville in which he reportedly stated he was a Maryland resident. Records show Albero has been registered to vote in Delaware since 2005.
