Delmarva Red Cross aiding Hurricane Ike victims WILMINGTON, DE (wesm) - (AP) Red Cross of the Delmarva Peninsula says its Emergency Response Vehicle has been sent to Texas to help the recovery from damage caused by Hurricane Ike.

The vehicle had been in Alabama aiding in Hurricane Gustav recovery efforts.

The Red Cross says volunteers working out of the vehicle provided 2,000 people with lunch and about 5,000 evacuees with dinner on Friday. Seventeen Delmarva Peninsula volunteers are also prepared to deploy to the region.
