Weldin Stewart wins nod for insurance commissioner
She received 43 percent of the vote. Party-backed candidate Gene Reed Jr. had 39 percent, and health insurance advocate Tom Savage had 18 percent.
Weldin Stewart will face Republican John Brady in November. Savage will appear on the November ballot as the candidate of the Independent Party of Delaware.
The winner will succeed incumbent Matt Denn, who is running for lieutenant governor.

Karen Weldin Stewart has won a three-way Democratic primary to claim the party's nomination for state insurance commissioner.She received 43 percent of the vote. Party-backed candidate Gene Reed Jr. had 39 percent, and health insurance advocate Tom Savage had 18 percent.
