Tuesday is primary day in Delaware DOVER, DEL. (AP) (wesm) - Republicans and Democrats in Delaware will vote Tuesday in a primary election featuring four statewide contests.

The Democrats will pick nominees for governor, insurance commissioner and the state's lone seat in the U.S. House of Representatives. Republicans will choose a nominee for governor.

In New Castle County, Democrats will choose either current County Executive Chris Coons or his predecessor Tom Gordon to be the be party's nominee for the office.

In Sussex County, John Atkins is attempting to return to the legislative seat he left in 2007. The former Republican state representative is running in the Democratic primary against Barbara Lifflander. Atkins resigned the seat after an ethics probe of a traffic stop and a domestic dispute.
