Democrats step up rhetoric as primary date nears
Lt. Gov. John Carney on Tuesday touted his economic development plan while dismissing state Treasurer Jack Markell's plan as ''more of the same.'' Markell fired back that Carney's criticisms were ''bordering on ridiculous.''
Carney claimed his own plan would create 55,000 jobs and said Markell's would deliver only 25,000. Markell retorted that Carney's claim of 55,000 jobs is ''totally unrealistic.''
The primary is Sept. 9.
