Chesapeake Utilities files for gas rate hike
(2008-09-03)
(wesm) - Chesapeake Utilities Corp. has filed to raise rates for its natural gas customers.

Company officials say average residential customers would see their winter heating bills rise by 17 percent, or about $30 per month.

The PSC approved part of the increase Tuesday. If approved, the second part of the increase would take effect Nov. 1.

Delmarva Power filed last week for a natural gas rate increase of 14.8 percent.
