Bystander shot to death during fight outside bar
(2005-07-25)
(wesm) - State police are looking for a Milton man
wanted in the shooting death of a 35-year-old California man
outside a nightclub this morning.
Police say 29-year-old Jerrin Wright was turned away from the
Nu-Phaze Bar and Grill southwest of Lewes around 12:50 a-m. He
waited outside until the club closed ten minutes later and started
arguing with a man, brandishing a gun.
They say he fired at the man, but missed and hit 35-year-old
Scott Lubitz, of Perris, California. Lubitz was taken to Beebe
Medical Center, where he died.
Lubitz was not involved in the argument. He and a friend were
standing outside the bar, smoking a cigarette.
Wright's charged with first-degree murder, possession of a
firearm during commission of a felony and aggravated menacing.
