Del. police: Woman dies in I-495 crash
The crash occurred around 2:45 a.m. Sunday on southbound I-495 near Claymont.
Police spokeswoman Lt. Melissa Zebley says a vehicle sped past a Chevy Trailblazer driven by 33-year-old LaRon Sheppard of Wilmington and Sheppard tried to catch up. Zebley says Sheppard tried to break on a curve, but the Trailblazer veered off the road, hit several trees and rolled over.
Police say Kimberly Simione, one of four passengers, was thrown from the rear seat and pronounced dead on the scene.

Delaware State police say a 24-year-old Wilmington woman was killed in a crash on Interstate 495 when the driver of the vehicle she was riding in tried to race another motorist.The crash occurred around 2:45 a.m. Sunday on southbound I-495 near Claymont.
