Forecast calls for worsening Delaware economy
(2009-01-02)
(wesm) - (AP) The Federal Reserve Bank Of Philadelphia says Delaware's economy is expected to worsen during the next nine months.

Federal officials base the projection on current economic activity in the state.

An index the Fed uses to forecast the state's economy fell by more than five percent in November alone. It was the sharpest drop since the index was created in 1979 and beat the previous record drop in October.

Officials base their predictions on housing permits, unemployment claims, business delivery times and interest rates.
