Graduating Fine Arts Seniors Exhibit Work
PRINCESS ANNE, MD-Over 30 artworks by three graduating seniors in the Department of Fine Arts at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore will be on view at the Mosely Gallery in the Arts and Technology building from May 1-15. A closing reception takes place on May 15, from 4 to 6 p.m.
"The show is the culmination of years of hard work in studio classes, under the direction of fine arts faculty," said Dr. Anke Van Wagenberg, Mosely Gallery director, who also teaches art history in the Department of Fine Arts.
Maryam Abramowicz will exhibit pieces in a variety of media including photography, oil painting, sequential art and ceramics. She completed an internship with the company FotoJoe, owned and operated by Joey Gardner, of the Daily Times. She currently works as a free lance photographer for the Daily Times and at Hebron Savings Bank in Salisbury.
Her future plans include starting a commercial photography business. She plans to pursue a master's in education. She is the daughter of Christopher and Cathie Abramowicz of Parsonburg.
Oil paintings, water colors and graphic designs by Jessica Craney will also be on display. Craney completed an internship at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., and Digigraph Media in Silver Spring, Md.
Upon graduation, she plans to work in print media, desktop design or graphic design. She is the daughter of Daniel and Glenda Craney of Capitol Heights, Md.
Originally from New Orleans, Jason Foret's artistic talent will be showcased in a selection of oil and acrylic paintings, pen and ink drawings, printmaking pieces and digital art. He has interned at the Daily Times as a graphic illustrator. He currently works as a video operator at WMDT-TV 47.
Foret is the son of Maggie and Brian Foret of Salisbury. He would like to work in the commercial art field or advertising.
