JAZZ
Hear a conversation with Denise Kings as she talks about her career and her continuing efforts to promote traditional jazz. Original air date: June 24, 2009
Denise King
Host: Brian Daniels
Airs: Weeknights 7-10 p.m. (Eastern) This West Philadelphia vocalist has been on the jazz scene for many years and shows no sign of slowing down any time in the near future.
She has performed at venues covering the United States and various places abroad, spreading the jazz message to all who will hear.
Although she has never received formal musical training (in fact, she doesn't even read music), it is clear from listening to her performances that she is very talented at drawing her audience in as she tells her stories as only she can. Denise has a very strong grasp on how jazz vocals should be delivered.
So far, Denise has produced four CDs (her latest is titled Fever) and has another project on the way.
