For Discussion: It's Called the High Road
(2008-09-02)
(WEKU) - The newly minted VEEP is pro-life, creationist, working mother and her unmarried daughter is pregnant at 17. How easy to point out the hypocrisy. It's a slow moving target. Governor Palin is a target-rich environment.

What's that you hear from the Democrats? Mostly nothing. Silence. This is the change Obama talks about. The reason many are having trouble understanding Obama's message of change is that they just aren't used to the message. When was the last time any of them have seen this? It's not that they don't care, they just don't get it.

Look here, it's called the high road for a reason. It's harder. And isn't that a compelling feat? He can make the decisions that are the hardest, and then stick to it. I'll say that again: he can make the decisions that are the hardest, and then stick to it. Yes, this is domestic politics, a pretty bloody sport at times. That's a pretty low bar, really. But this campaign has been about "no drama Obama". The cool even hand. Reminiscent of Atticus Finch. McCain has repeatedly questioned Obama on international affairs. Obama's trip abroad a few weeks ago took the wind out of those sails. International affairs have returned to the adult table.

Or you can go with the guy who perhaps didn't know about his new "soulmate's" pregnant daughter? Who only met her once in person before asking her to be one heartbeat away? OK Mr. Shoot From the Hip, this is for keeps this time. Maverick is only good when it goes off in the right direction.

Remind you of anybody? McCain is about to have a bit of Bush about him.

Choose as you must. But now you know why it's called the high road.
