“A is for Appalachia…the Alphabet Book of Appalachian Heritage” was written by EKU professor Linda Hager Pack, illustrated by Pat Banks, and published by University Press of Kentucky. The author is one of hundreds meeting readers Saturday during the Kentucky Book Fair. It takes place in the Frankfort Convention Center.

A colorful new book introduces young readers to the alphabet and provides lessons in Appalachian history and heritage. " A is for Appalachia " is written by Linda Hager Pack, who's a professor of children's literature at Eastern Kentucky University. Each letter is accompanied by an item or phrase that embodies a part of Appalachian culture. Reporter Beth Vorhees spoke with the author.
