A game between the University of Kentucky and Eastern Kentucky University is significant for both teams for different reasons. EKU was seeking a major upset while UK sought to enhance its post season bowl possibilities. Now with the contest over, both squads have critical games coming up this weekend
After an exciting first half, Kentucky was simply too powerful in the second half Saturday and pulled away to win 37-12. Key games await both teams this Saturday. Eastern is five and four. The Colonels rank second nationally in the number of consecutive winning seasons. Head Coach Dean Hood and his players know what's before them.
"Oh yeah, it's an issue. We got five wins and we got two games left so it we got to win one of those games to keep that streak alive," Hood said.
The Colonels come home for the final home game Saturday against Western Carolina. They finish up the regular season on the road against a tough Jacksonville State. UK travels to Nashville to battle Vanderbilt as the Cat hope to make it to a fourth bowl game in a row.
