I Love Mountains Day Rally Draws Hundreds
Several hundred Kentuckians braved frigid temperatures in Frankfort to attend the I Love Mountains Day rally on the State Capitol steps. Numerous speakers, a Bluegrass band and country musician Kathy Mattea kept the crowd entertained and fired up, despite the cold.

FRANKFORT, KY (WEKU) - Several hundred Kentuckians braved frigid temperatures for the annual I Love Mountains Day march and rally at the State Capitol.
One of the biggest issues on the minds of the marchers was mountaintop removal, the coal industry's preferred method of extracting coal from the eastern Kentucky mountains.
