Lexington Police Investigate Robberies
(2009-11-23)
(WEKU) -

Lexington police are investigating at least six robberies which occurred in less than 24 hours. Lieutenant Doug Pape this type of criminal activity tends to increase around holidays.

"Some of which we've made arrests in some of which we have not right now four of those are robberies of individuals and two of them are robberies of businesses," Pape said.

Pape says police have arrested suspects in connection with the robbery of a woman at the Nicholasville Road Walmart. He says an armed robbery of a Waffle House on Richmond Road and a McDonald's on New Circle could be related. The police lieutenant says it appears robberies of individuals outdistance hold-ups at retail stores.
