It's Senior Day' Saturday at Eastern Kentucky University's Roy Kidd Stadium. A win against Western Carolina would likely assure a 32nd consecutive winning season for the Colonels.
It's not a mathematical certainty, but a victory over the Catamounts would virtually guarantee another winning season for EKU. Eastern currently ranks second, just behind Florida State, in that category. And FSU could very easily slip out of first place. The Seminoles are 4-5 heading into their contest with Wake Forest. Colonel head coach Dean Hood says coaches and players are aware of the significance of Saturday's game.
"You know you got to be careful of emphasizing it too much and making the kids too concerned about it," Hood said.
Hood says the coaches and players don't take the streak lightly. Over the decades, he says a lot of blood, sweat, and tears went into it and his squad will do it best to uphold the winning tradition. Kickoff is set for one o' clock.
